Our story

Our Story

Le Life is a small, family-run eco retreat between ocean and rainforest — welcoming guests as friends.

This page uses only names and themes from the project briefing. Personal stories, spellings, and photos still need confirmation from the family. Atmospheric images below are placeholders, not Le Life family or resort photographs.

A family place

To confirm with resort

Le Life is shaped by family — Tanhia and Jacque — who host guests in North Efate with a warm, down-to-earth spirit.

In the guest booklet, Jacque is also called “Apu.” We still need to confirm the preferred spelling, what the name means to the family, and how they would like it shared with guests.

Until those details are confirmed, we keep this introduction simple: you are staying with people who care about this land and the guests who visit it.

How it feels to stay

To confirm with resort

The briefing describes a family atmosphere: come as you are, reconnect with nature, and feel looked after without fuss.

We will add the family’s own words — favourite guest moments, how they like to greet arrivals, what “home” means at Le Life — once they share them. Nothing here invents a biography.

Our team

To confirm with resort

Le Life is supported by a Ni-Vanuatu team — friendly, practical, and part of the welcome you feel each day.

Names, roles, and portraits will appear here when the resort provides them. Until then, please meet the team in person and ask reception who can help with what.

Community

To confirm with resort

Choosing Le Life supports local people, culture, and the surrounding community in North Efate.

We will expand this section with confirmed examples — village connections, local makers, or projects the family is proud of — only when those stories are approved. Guests can also ask reception how their stay helps neighbours nearby.

Respect for nature & culture

To confirm with resort

Le Life sits between ocean and rainforest. Guests are invited to move gently: respect kastom and local custom, care for reef and bush, and leave places as you found them.

The resort uses solar power and rainwater, and asks everyone to use electricity and water thoughtfully. Practical tips live in Your Stay → Eco living; here we simply share the heart of it — living lightly on this land.
